This is a statue of the Father of Surfing. I can't remember his name but I do recall that he was of Hawai'ian nobility, carrying the title of Duke.

This is a statue of the Father of Surfing. I can't remember his name but I do recall that he was of Hawai'ian nobility, carrying the title of Duke.

Duke is not his title. His name is Duke Kahanamoku. His is the Father of Modern Surfing and an Olympic Medalist.
