This is a photo of the 1st Circuit Court in Honolulu. For those who are unfamiliar with the American legal system, the 50 states are divided into 11 judicial districts called circuits, and Hawai'i finds itself in the 9th Circuit in the company of Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, Guam and the Northern Marianas Islands. I think, therefore, that this must be some sort of state circuit court, independent from the federal branch.
